Equimins Country Living Wound Spray

Cleanse, protect, and soothe minor cuts, scrapes, and feather-pecking abrasions with Equimins Country Living Wound Spray. Formulated as an essential first-aid spray for chickens, waterfowl, horses, and livestock, this powerful antiseptic barrier spray shields open skin from dirt, bacteria, and airborne contamination to support rapid, natural skin recovery.

Designed for quick and easy application, this formula spray functions as a classic "Purple Spray"—just like traditional equine first-aid sprays. Upon application, it leaves a distinct, bright purple marker dye over the treated area. In poultry, this vibrant purple coloration serves a vital dual purpose: it allows you to instantly track which birds have been treated while effectively disguising red, bloody wounds. Because chickens are naturally drawn to the colour red, hiding fresh blood prevents flock-mates from pecking at sore skin, allowing injuries to heal without further irritation.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE (PURPLE DYE WARNING): This product contains a long-lasting purple indicator dye. Like traditional equine purple spray, it will permanently stain skin, clothing, light-coloured animal coats, and stable walls or coop timber. We strongly advise wearing protective gloves and applying carefully away from clothing or delicate surfaces!

🐓 Why Choose Equimins Wound Spray?

  • 🟣 Classic Purple Spray Formula: Applies a durable purple dye that covers red, bloody skin to deter feather-pecking from flock-mates.
  • 🛡️ Antiseptic Barrier Protection: Cleanses minor skin lesions and forms a protective barrier against dirt, manure, and bacteria.
  • 🩹 Multi-Species First Aid Essential: Safe and effective for chickens, ducks, horses, sheep, goats, and general farm livestock.
  • ⏱️ Fast-Drying & Water-Resistant: Dries rapidly on contact to provide long-lasting skin coverage that won't rub off easily in damp conditions.
  • 🎯 Convenient Trigger Spray: Easy-to-use spray applicator allows precise, hands-free treatment of nervous or moving animals.

📋 Application & First Aid Guide

How to Apply:

  1. Preparation: Gently clean away loose dirt, bedding debris, or dried blood from the affected area using clean water or warm saline.
  2. Application: Shake the bottle well. Hold the spray roughly 15cm to 20cm away from the wound and apply a light, even mist until the area is fully covered in purple dye.
  3. Drying: Allow the spray to air-dry for 1–2 minutes before returning the animal to its housing or pasture. Reapply 1–2 times daily until the skin is fully healed.

Critical Safety & Application Guidelines:

  1. Wear Gloves: Always wear disposable gloves during application to prevent staining your hands and fingernails purple!
  2. Avoid Eyes & Mouth: Take care not to spray directly into the animal's eyes, nostrils, or open mouth.
  3. Feather-Pecking Management: For severe feather-pecking outbreaks, isolate the injured bird until the wound is thoroughly coated in purple spray and skin re-growth has begun.
  4. ⭐ Top Tip: Keep a bottle of this purple wound spray in both your horse tack room and your chicken coop first-aid kit. It is the fastest way to sterilise a fresh peck mark while instantly stopping other animals from picking at red, sore skin!
