Aubiose Hemp Horse Bedding (20kg Bale)

Set a new benchmark for stable hygiene, air quality, and mucking-out efficiency with Aubiose Hemp Horse Bedding (20kg). Manufactured from 100% natural, organically grown hemp shive (the soft internal core of the hemp stem), Aubiose is globally recognised as one of the most absorbent, dust-free, and eco-friendly animal beddings available on the equestrian and smallholder market.

Aubiose operates on an innovative capillary sponge system: liquid is drawn immediately downwards through the dry top surface into a confined, highly absorbent base layer that holds up to four times its own weight in moisture (vastly outperforming traditional straw and wood shavings). This unique action locks pungent ammonia fumes and wetness firmly at the bottom of the bed, leaving the top layer bone dry, clean, and warm for your horse to lie on. Strictly dust-extracted and naturally insect-repellent, it provides essential respiratory relief for COPD/RAO sufferers, competition equines, sensitive poultry, and small animals alike.

🐴 Why Choose Aubiose Hemp Bedding?

• 💧 Exceptional Absorbency: Absorbs up to 400% of its weight in liquid, instantly drawing wetness down away from the surface.
• 🌬️ Rigorously Dust-Free: Multi-stage mechanical dust extraction protects horses with sensitive airways, recurrent coughs, or allergies.
• 🫁 Natural Ammonia Lock: Traps and neutralises urine odours at the base, drastically improving indoor stable and coop air quality.
• ⏱️ Rapid Mucking-Out: Only droppings are removed daily, while the base layer remains undisturbed for weeks, cutting weekly labour and disposal volume in half.
• 🌱 Fast-Composting Bio-Waste: Decomposes into rich, organic garden compost in just 6 to 8 weeks, preventing massive, slow-rotting muck heaps.
• 🐓 Multi-Species Versatility: Outstanding for chicken coops, aviary floors, rabbit hutches, and tortoises thanks to its ultra-clean, dry composition.

📋 Stable Management & Bedding Guide

The Aubiose Method (Standard 12ft × 12ft Stable):

1. Initial Bed Setup:

• Clear the floor completely. Spread 6 to 8 bales across the stable floor to create an even, deep bed of approximately 10cm – 12cm (4 – 5 inches).
• Activate the Base: Lightly sprinkle the surface with 5 – 10 litres of water using a watering can with a rose head. This activates the natural sponge-like capillary action of the hemp shive, causing it to bond into a stable, supportive bottom mat.

2. Routine Daily Maintenance:

• Daily: Skip out droppings only using a shavings fork. Rake the dry surface flat over any disturbed spots. Do not dig out the wet base daily.
• Weekly / Fortnightly: Once a wet patch starts to show through the top surface, clear back the dry top layer, lift the saturated base cake cleanly with a shovel, and replace with ½ to 1 fresh bale of Aubiose.

Critical Management Guidelines:

1. Leave the Base Intact: Digging up the bed every day destroys the compacted sponge base and causes unnecessary wastage. Trust the system and let the mat form!
2. Poultry Coop Deep Litter: Ideal for the deep-litter method in chicken runs; sprinkle Total Hygiene Powder or Hen House Freshener directly beneath the hemp layer.
3. ⭐ Top Tip: Aubiose makes your muck heap shrink by up to 75% compared to straw! Because it rots down in under two months, local gardeners and allotmenteers will happily collect your clean hemp manure.
