🌿 Product Overview

Simple System Sainfoin Pellets are a forage-based pellet made from 100% sainfoin (a legume forage), designed as a high-quality alternative to traditional grass or lucerne forage. They are rich in natural minerals and trace elements, and are described as a “premium forage alternative to lucerne and grass”.

Suitable for a wide range of horses: foals, youngstock, older horses, those with lucerne allergies, or anyone seeking variety in forage.

✅ Key Benefits

  • 100% pure sainfoin — no binders added.

  • High in natural minerals and trace elements.

  • Source of condensed tannins — which may support protein digestion.

  • Suitable for:

    • Older horses or those needing a clean forage alternative

    • Horses with lucerne sensitivities

🪣 Feeding & Usage Guide

  • Introduce gradually over a week when switching.

  • Can be fed dry or soaked (particularly for foals, greedy feeders, older/dental-challenged horses). When soaking, use approx 2-2.5 times its volume of water

  • Start with ~ 100 g per 100 kg bodyweight per day (dry weight) and increase as required, up to ~5 kg/day for a 500 kg horse.

  • Suitable as part or full forage alternative. Good for variety in the diet.

  • Always ensure fresh clean water and maintain good turnout or fibre access.

  • Store in a cool, dry place, keep the bag sealed.
