100% Alfalfa.

🍽️ How to Feed
Can be fed dry in snack balls or as healthy treats. Because pellets are high in fibre, ideally feed soaked or with chopped fibre for individuals that bolt their feed.

Adding to Bucket Feeds
Feed dry alongside chopped fibre for added interest and a concentrated fibre source. Up to 500g per 100kg bodyweight/day (e.g. 2.5kg for a 500kg horse).

Using in a Treat Ball
A great low sugar & starch option for a treat ball to help reduce boredom and encourage a natural trickle feeding rate.

One level scoop of Alfalfa Pellets ≈ 1.6 kg.
💧 How to Soak Alfalfa Pellets
For those that struggle to chew, soak pellets before feeding. Use hot or cold water:
  • Cold soak: ~2 hours
  • Hot soak: ~15 minutes
As a guide, use a 1 : 3 ratio (pellets : water) to produce a mash. Pellets can be left to soak through the day or night if preferred.

To Dampen the Feed
Add ½–1 mug of soaked pellets to dampen feeds—especially helpful when mixing powdered supplements.

Always introduce dietary changes gradually and ensure fresh water is available.
